Accreditations and Certifications

VariQ values commitment to quality in the services we provide and in the processes we use to deliver those services. We believe that continuing education and current professional certifications help us to better meet our client's needs as we strive for excellence in all aspects of business. Here is a listing of some of the certifications our company and its employees have worked hard to achieve in order to provide the highest quality service and support to our customers.

HUBZone Certified

VariQ has been an SBA HUBZone certified company since 2007. The program, operated by the U.S. Small Business Administration, encourages economic development of small businesses in historically underutilized business zones. The HUBZone program anticipates 3 percent of all spending for federal contracts will be awarded to HUBZone contractors. HUBZone spending by government agencies can be tracked at: smallbusiness.data.gov.

CMMI Level 2 Accredited

In April of 2009 VariQ was CMMI Level 2 Certified. The benefits you can expect from using a CMMI Level 2 vendor include the knowledge that project activities are explicitly linked to your business objectives, and as your consultants, VariQ's personnel are continuously learning from new areas of best practice (e.g., measurement, risk).

Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes. VariQ is currently pursuing CMMI for Services at Level 3.

ISO 9000:2008 Registered

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. This International Standard promotes the adoption of a process approach when developing, implementing and improving the effectiveness of a Quality Management System (QMS), to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements.

VariQ became ISO 9001:2008 certified on January 21, 2011. ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization demonstrates its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. ITIL Certification

ITIL ® is the only consistent and comprehensive documentation of best practice for IT Service Management. Used by thousands of organizations around the world, a whole ITIL philosophy has grown up around the guidance contained within the ITIL books and the supporting professional qualification scheme. ITIL consists of a series of books giving guidance on the provision of quality IT services, and on the accommodation and environmental facilities needed to support IT. ITIL has been developed in recognition of organizations' growing dependency on IT and embodies best practices for IT Service Management. VariQ maintains staff with ITIL certifications.

PMP Certified

The Project Management Institute is the leading membership association for project management professionals. PMI is dynamically engaged in advocacy for the profession, setting professional standards, conducting research and providing access to an abundance of valuable information and resources. In addition, PMI advocates career and professional development and offers certification, networking, and community involvement opportunities. In addition to having staff with business degrees, some VariQ project leaders are also PMP certified.

Information System Security

The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) certification provides information security professionals with not only an objective gauge of proficiency but a globally recognized standard of achievement. The Certified Authorization Professional (CAP®) credential is an objective measure of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for personnel involved in the process of authorizing and maintaining information systems. VariQ maintains current personnel who are CISSP and CAP certified. We also maintain other security certifications such as: CEH, Security +, GCIH, and GIAC.
